If you want to take a little trip down memory lane, check out Cliff Muskiet’s Stewardess Uniform Collection.
Cliff is a Flight Attendant for KLM, and lives in the Netherlands. For over twenty years he has collected uniforms from airlines, past and present. His collection is approaching museum quantity and quality, and he has expressed an interest in eventually displaying the uniforms in that fashion.
The uniform shown here is from United Airlines around 1983. I’m still scratching my head about who thought wearing white in our job was a good idea.
Whether you’re a crew member who wore one of these outfits, or a passenger who remembers the “good old days” when flying was a kinder, gentler way of travel, it’s fun to browse through the old uniforms and laugh at what once passed for fashion.
