Apparently all this talk about beautiful fall foliage has the Car Care Council a little nervous.
While beautiful to look at, the falling leaves may create a driving hazard:
“The leaves are beautiful to see, but when wet or in piles, they present driving hazards unique to the season. . . . Drivers should be aware that wet leaves on the road surface can make stopping difficult, and piles of leaves can obscure potholes, curbs and street markings.”
Before embarking on any road trip, make sure that your car is in good working order. The Car Care Council has a good list of things to check. And, if you’re driving near those leaves, a little extra caution is in order.
