Google Tip Jar: A Collection of Money Saving Travel Tips

I’m sure you’ve noticed the price of travel these days – and although many of the components of a vacation are going down (hotel rooms, gas) and there are lots of special promotions going on – there’s still no way around it.  We still have to crunch our budgets and make choices to maximize the value for our travel expenditures.

Of course, it’s not just travel expenses that we’re watching!

In all our daily choices, we’re looking to save a few dollars.  And of course, if we save enough there is more for vacation!

tipjar Google Tip Jar: A Collection of Money Saving Travel Tips To help us exchange practical tips on how to save money in every facet of our life, Google recently launched the Tip Jar.  Here, you can take a money saving tip or leave one in a variety of in categories.  For example, here are a couple categories:  Food, At home, At work, and Travel.

It works like a lot of other social sites, where users can vote up or down a tip, and are also invited to leave a tip of their own.

Oh yeah, and about that travel category – I was asked by Google to contribute a bunch of money saving travel tips to help them prepare for launch.  Please go take a look at my contributions, as well as those from others.  And if you’re feeling so inclined, voting my suggestions up would be greatly appreciated!

Visiting the Tip Jar doesn’t require registration, although you must sign in with a gmail address to vote or add a tip.
