MJ’s Travel Favorites 11-22-09

It’s been a busy week, and much of my time has been spent offline, studying for and finally attending my annual Flight Attendant recurrent training class.  It’s amazing how stressful the week has been, but it’s over for another year, and I still managed to read a few great travel bloggers this week.

It’s an abbreviated list, but here’s what caught my eye this week:

Oh how I love Paris!

My Melange tempts us with the left bank in Paris, and all the fun little books sellers and other stalls along the Seine.  Oh how I loved Paris!

Sluggo’s Blog, another Flight Attendant blog that I recently discovered, outlines one of the pet peeves of the job – people who bring on bags that they can’t lift to stow.

Brilliant Tips takes us to the rug bazaar in Turkmenistan,  These great photos make it looks like buying a rug is a breeze.

PlanetEye Traveler – St. Petersburg tells us about the new high-speed train that shaves nearly an hour off travel time between St. Petersburg and Moscow.

Consumer Travel wonders why it’s so hard to get an easy-to-use alarm clock in a hotel room.  It’s a frustration of mine as well, which is why I’m reduce to using my phone alarm.

A Traveler’s Library has 10 perfect gifts for your favorite traveler.  Or maybe for yourself!

Another post from Consumer Traveler, this one about my new favorite country, Croatia.  I didn’t make it to Istria, but I’m putting it on the to-visit list.

Gadling encourages to explore some haute cuisine – and dine is a trailer park.  It sounds like the ultimate in street food.

PlanetEye Traveler – New York City won’t let me give up on summer quite yet, and offers a list of places where you can still enjoy a little outdoor dining.

Please take some time today and visit these other travel bloggers; I’ll think you’ll enjoy this great round up of posts.  Oh yeah, and be sure to leave a comment and tell them that MJ sent you!
