Recent rankings of the busiest airports in the world (based by total number of passengers passing through in 2009) has perennial list topper Atlanta Hartsfield down in overall passenger traffic, but remaining at the top of the list.
Here’s the full list of the Top 10:
- Atlanta
- London Heathrow
- Beijing Capital
- Chicago O’Hare
- Tokyo Haneda
- Paris Charles de Gaulle
- LAX
- Dallas/Fort Worth
- Frankfurt
- Denver
I’m planning my annual Europe trip, and several of these airports are connecting points. How busy the airport is factors into my decision insofar as how much time I allow to make a connection. It probably won’t make me decide to avoid an airport all together if everything else on the flight schedule lines up favorably.
How about you?
Does how busy the airport is make a difference on whether or not you make a connection through it? Do you try to avoid any of these airports?
