Disclosure & Advertising

I work in the travel industry and receive discounts commonly extended to those who work in the industry. As a travel blogger, I may also receive complimentary or reduced rates at hotels, resorts, museums, restaurants, attractions, theater performances, and products for review.

In my posts, I disclose when I have received a discounted rate as a result of my status as a travel blogger. I work hard to be as fair and impartial as I can be when reviewing a location, attraction, or product, whether I have paid full price, received a travel industry discount, or have received a media admission or rate.

While your experience at a destination, or with a product, may be different than mine, what you read here reflects my honest opinion, tempered by a few decades of travel experience, and colored only by my personal travel preferences.

Advertising found on my site, or the occasional use of affiliate links may result in a small payment coming my way. I do not provide affiliate links unless I believe in the product, site, or location, and it does not bear on my opinion.

I occasionally write sponsored posts, and when that happens, they are clearly identified in a note at the end of the post. I do not accept sponsored posts for topics that I would not write about in the absence of the sponsorship, and the sponsorship merely provides additional earnings for writing about something that caught my eye or was otherwise on my editorial calendar.

You may also find native advertising on this site. It also helps to pay the bills and is clearly differentiated from independent editorial content.

Opinions expressed are always my own, freely expressed, and are never bought and paid for. In other words, if I like something, I’ll tell you all about it. If I don’t, same holds true. When I work with sponsors I make it clear that I am being compensated for my time, work, and honest opinion. A favorable opinion is not guaranteed.

If you are interested in buying advertising on this site, becoming a sponsor, discussing a sponsored post, or have a hotel, resort, restaurant, travel product or attraction that you would like me to review, please contact me by email.
