Travel to Cuba: My Flipboard

What do you think of when your think about travel to Cuba?

Do you think about the 50-plus years of political history surrounding the U.S. embargo of history? Do you think about the islands and archipelagos that makes up the country of Cuba? Do you think about how Havana was, at one time, the weekend getaway for gambling and nightlife? Do you think about the troubled human rights record that the Castro leadership has on record? Do you think about the recent changes in the licenses regarding visiting Cuba?

Visiting Cuba has been on my bucket list since I very first made a list of the many places in the world that I wanted to visit. Over the years, I’ve thought about visiting Cuba via a non-U.S. flight, avoiding the hassles of applying for a license and following the rather strict rules about spending time and money in the country. I could qualify for one of the several licenses, no problem, but I just haven’t gotten around to it.

But I will.

And to keep track of stories about visiting Cuba, recommended things to see and do, as well as following along with information about the political climate of the country, I’ve started a Flipboard about Cuba. This will allow me to collect things that I want t read and study for that day – hopefully soon – when I finally make it to Cuba.
