Tuesday Deal Day: SIP & SUP at The Fess Parker, Santa Barbara

The Fess Parker, Santa Barbara

Set on 24 acres of prime Pacific turf, Santa Barbara’s The Fess Parker, a DoubleTree by Hilton Resort, celebrates the season with a renovation of its guestrooms and new SIP & SUP package. This package pairs the much-buzzed Funk Zone urban wine venue with an adventure at sea, making it a trifecta of wine, water and world-class lodging along what’s been called the American Riviera.

Tapping into two rising trends — Stand Up Paddle (SUP) and Santa Barbara’s urban-industrial wine tasting — The Fess Parker salutes spring with a getaway that is walking friendly and wine-centric. Enjoy value luxury accommodations, get in some outdoor activity, and spend time strolling the Funk Zone’s eclectic  sub-culture of artisan shops, art galleries, hip eateries, micro-brews and 14+ wine venues set in an industrial area two blocks from the beach.

Here are details on what the SIP & SUP Package includes:

  • Accommodations in a newly renovated guestroom.
  • 2-for-1 SUP rental (ranges from $17-37/hour) or Kayak rental ($10/hour) from Santa Barbara Sailing Center.
  • 2-for-1 tastings at seven wine venues in the Funk Zone (Area 5.1, Blair Fox Cellars, Carr Winery, Grassini Family Vineyards, Riverbench Winery, Corks n’ Crowns and Jaffurs Wine Cellars).

And oh yeah, The Fess Park is pet friendly, too. The top choice by Fido Friendly Magazine, The Fess Parker has welcomed pets since 1986 and is the ideal venue given its beachfront setting along the Cabrillo bike path and miles of walking trails. Standard pet amenities include a pet treat bag upon arrival and guestrooms conveniently located close to the expansive lawns. The resort also offers a “Paw”- and “Purr”-riffic menu sporting Howlin’ Ground Sirloin and Albacore Tuna, cooked to order on the in-room carte; pet-friendly dining is also available on the ocean view patio of The Set. Day rate for a maximum of two animals per room (all sizes welcome) is $30.00.

The Fess Parker is one of Santa Barbara’s most prominent beachfront resorts, with 24-acres of AAA 4-Diamond luxury. The Spanish Colonial architecture and design combines with stunning ocean views, to great a signature design style. The resort has 360 guestrooms and suites.

Location:  633 East Cabrillo Boulevard, Santa Barbara, California

Dates: The SIP & SUP package is available March 1 – May 31, 2014
