Tuesday Deal Day: Sunset Golf Cart Tour on Kauai

Makai Hole 7.Sunset

Have you ever wished you could just relax and enjoy the beauty of a golf course without having to swing a club?

The Princeville Makai Golf Club has introduced a unique and fun “non-golfing” way for guests to experience the scenic vistas of the famed Makai Course at sunset – a golf cart tour. Situated on Kauai’s spectacular north shore, set between ocean and mountains, the Makai boasts an extraordinarily beautiful setting and was named one of the “Top 5 Great Golf Settings in the U.S.” by National Geographic Traveler in 2011. It is a public course.

Makai Golf Course Hole #7 at Sunset, Kauai

The 27-hole Princeville Makai Golf Club features two uniquely individual courses. The 18-hole Makai Course incorporates serene lakes and stunning ocean coastline, while the 9-hole Woods Course winds through native woodlands against a backdrop of lush mountain views.

The Makai course now offers a “Sunset Golf Cart Tour” that allows two people to explore the course at their leisure in a new 2014 Club Car Prestige electric cart. Guests can follow the cart paths meandering through the 18 holes, stop and linger wherever they wish to take photos, enjoy a snack or drinks (including champagne) purchased from the Makai Grill, and watch the sun set over Hanalei Bay. Information on wildlife and scenic points is provided. This self-guided cart tour gives guests approximately ninety minutes on the course, a much shorter and tiring commitment than playing 18 holes, and gives non-golfers a pleasant way to enjoy the beauty of the course.

Location:  4080 Lei O Papa Rd, Princeville, Kauai (at the Saint Regis Princeville Resort)

Time:  5 pm daily

Price:  $40 per golf cart for two guests
