Have Dog Will Travel: Best Dog-Friendly Hotels in the Pacific Northwest

August is National Dog Month, which makes it the perfect time to plan a getaway with your pup. And although I am team-cat, I know many of you travel with your dog. 

From mountain towns to lakeside views and city stays, the Pacific Northwest is full of great places that offer something special for dogs and their humans. And although we are team Cat at our home, we support traveling with all your furry friends.

Here are 13 of the best dog-friendly places to stay while you explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Archer Hotel

At Archer Hotel Redmond, pups are treated like family from check-in to checkout. Four-legged friends are greeted with a pup-sized welcome sign, water bowl, and treats, plus in-room perks like a Pendleton dog bed, chew toy, waste bags, and a personalized welcome card.

Located in the heart of Redmond’s walkable downtown and just minutes from Marymoor Park – home to the region’s largest off-leash dog area – there’s lots of places for playful exploration for both two and four-legged guests.

One dog or emotional support animal up to 50 pounds is welcome per room with a $150 non-refundable pet cleaning fee per stay.

Salish Lodge & Spa

Salish Lodge & Spa makes traveling with your furry friends easy and luxurious with their Pampered Paws Package for $75 per dog, which covers a hotel pet fee plus several thoughtful amenities, including: all-natural bone-shaped biscuits, a comfy Salish Lodge & Spa dog blanket, and a bone-shaped collar tag as a memento.

The hotel has lots of on-site green space ideal for playtime, and the in-room fireplaces or patio firepits are perfect for evening relaxation. And those views of the Falls are spectacular.

Dogs of all sizes are welcome in Salish Lodge’s first-floor Patio Rooms, which provide easy patio door access right from the room to the outdoor pathways around the property.

Hotel Ketchum 

Sun Valley, Idaho’s Hotel Ketchum is the paw-fect destination for adventurers and their four-legged friends. The hotel warmly welcomes well-behaved dogs, making it a great choice if you are looking for pet-friendly accommodations in this all-season outdoor paradise.

To ensure a comfortable stay for canine companions, the hotel provides amenities such as a bed, bowls, and a leash at check-in – and with plenty of excitement to be had on-site (like the community patio space) and all round beautiful Sun Valley, this place will get tails wagging.

Guests can bring up to two dogs per room, regardless of size, for just a nightly fee of $25 per pet. In commitment to supporting animal welfare initiatives, 10% of all pet fees are donated to the local Mountain Humane Society.

The FINCH

The FINCH Walla Walla is designed with adventure in mind, making it a great getaway for you and your four-legged companions. With its modern design and easy access to downtown and Walla Walla’s natural beauty, The FINCH encourages you and your dog to explore.

Pet-friendly rooms, outdoor spaces, and welcoming staff make it easy to gear up and hit the trails, parks, or pet-friendly patios, ensuring that every guest, furry or not, is part of the adventure.

Dog-friendly rooms are available upon request, subject to availability. Advanced reservations are required. There is a fee of $35 per night (maximum $70 per stay) and The FINCH Pet Policy Agreement must be signed upon check in. Maximum of two dogs per room.

The State Hotel

Located just steps from Pike Place Market, The State Hotel has easy access to the waterfront and nearby neighborhoods. It’s a comfortable and convenient spot for a city adventure with your four-legged friend.

Dogs 50 pounds or less are welcome to stay in the guest rooms and join you on the rooftop deck, where you can both take in the Puget Sound views and enjoy some fresh air. Advanced reservations are required for all stays, including pups.

Grand Hyatt Seattle

Grand Hyatt Seattle offers a luxurious downtown stay with thoughtful accommodations for pets. This is one of our go-to hotels when we stay downtown. Upon arrival, pups receive a special welcome treat, and housekeeping delivers an in-room dog bed and water bowls to keep them comfortable during their stay.

The concierge is happy to provide walking route recommendations, pet store suggestions, and tips for nearby dog-friendly spots.  The hotel’s central location means you’re perfectly positioned for long walks, city exploration, and pit stops at local pet boutiques. And if you stop in downstairs for a steak at Ruths’ Chris, it’s easy to take a doggy bag back to the room.

The hotel welcomes up to two dogs per room, with a combined weight limit of 75 pounds and a $100 pet fee per stay.

The Heathman Kirkland

Signature dog biscuits made by the hotel’s culinary team will be waiting in your guestroom. Semiahmoo Resort Golf & Spa

Semiahmoo Resort is the ultimate Pacific Northwest getaway with a tremendous range of things to do, play, create, eat, and explore – for adults, children and furry friends.

They offer five accommodation options, three that are dog friendly. The rustic log cabins or Lake House are perfect for traveling with your four-legged friends, with dogs also welcome at any of the RV or campsites too.

There is a one-time canine fee of $50 per pup, per stay, with a maximum of two dogs per Log Cabin or in the Lake House.

Located at the foot of the Cascade Mountains, and a short 10-minute walk from downtown Leavenworth, Icicle Village Resort is a retreat for the whole family – four-legged members included.
